Team Away Day Photography
Corporate Team Building Photography at Whitlingham Broad
CADS, a Norfolk-based survey and retail planning provider, asked me to create a set of headshots and office lifestyle images for their website and company documents. They also asked me to photograph their team away day at Whitlingham Adventure in Norwich.
It turned into an excellent day to photograph, and a brilliant example of how organisations can show their culture, not just talk about it.
My role was to capture a wide range of moments across the different activities the team took part in. The day opened with a quiz and refreshments from Norwich-based social enterprise, the Feed. From there, the group moved into problem-solving challenges before getting stuck into outdoor activities including kayaking, paddleboarding, raft building and archery.
Feeling happy and valued at work really matters. Photography from their team building day gave CADS a strong library of natural images to use in recruitment, employer branding and company communications. These kinds of photographs help prospective employees see the people and culture behind the business.
It’s not often a company has its entire team together in one place, so a team away day like this is a fantastic opportunity to capture the true personality of an organisation. It also gives staff a chance to step away from day-to-day work, build relationships and let off some steam.
Candid Event Photography
While I enjoyed creating images in their office, this type of documentary-style event photography, capturing candid, natural moments as they unfold, is my favourite way to work. It was a challenge covering so many activities happening simultaneously, on land and water (luckily I had a little help from a speedboat), with teams spread out around the Broad. But that energy is exactly what makes these sessions so much fun.
The result is a set of photographs full of laughter, camaraderie and friendly competition — images that feel real, human and reflective of the ethos behind CADS team spirit.
If you’re planning a team away day, corporate event or team building activity in Norwich or Norfolk and want natural, story-led photography that captures your people and company culture, I’d love to hear from you.
